Sterling Silver ornate open bangle
Wild Atlantic Crafts
This bangle is handmade from round silver wire. The wire is cut into the correct length strips and annealed (heated with a torch) to make it soft enough to twist with pliers. The shapes are formed, soldered and hammered to flatten the wire. Then, the bangle shape is created by hammering the metal on an oval shaped stake to produce the desired result. Finally, the bangle is barrel polished to establish a preliminary polish on the silver. The last process is a fine polishing with a soft rotating mop with and a fine grit polish. The design is inspired by the ancient Newgrange spirals with a contemporary twist.
